Capabilities - Micro Molding
The need for miniaturization, a phenomenom often requiring injection molded parts across nearly all industries, has given matrix the opportunity to manufacture parts as small as 250 microns in diameter with part weights typically less than 0.10 grams. Along with having the equipment and infrastructure to deal with such small components, our molding talent allows us to take the process a step further to routinely hold key geometries with a repeatability of several microns.
Starting in the 70's, with fiber optic splices containing fiber channels for 125µm optical fiber, to more recent endeavors in microfluidics, with fluid channels as shallow as 30 microns, matrix has kept pace with ever-shrinking part sizes and features and the technical challenges they represent.
